Many London salons use cheap processed hair with the cuticle stripped off, coated in a temporary silicone that imitates the shine of European hair. This coating washes off within 3 to 5 washes. After that the hair tangles into knots, loses its shine and looks visibly artificial.

Standard capsules weighing around 1 gram create serious strain at the point of attachment near the root. That weight pulls the hair down, overloads the root and, over time, can weaken and damage your own hair, especially fine hair prone to breakage.
The AV Extension team uses a different approach to micro bond hair extensions. Our flat-pressing technique forms a neat, almost flat bond and creates the most natural and invisible transition between the extensions and the client's own hair. The capsules, weighing 0.1 to 0.5 g, stay very small and light, so they do not overload the root and leave the hair free to grow calmly together with the extensions.

Step 1. Horizontal partings at 1 cm intervals
The hair is divided into horizontal sections exactly every 1 cm, from the nape to the crown. An even spacing ensures the weight is distributed evenly and stops the load gathering on one area of the scalp.

Step 2. Micro-strands with matched density
Each section is divided into micro-strands of 10 to 20 natural hairs, depending on the thickness of your hair. In dense areas more hair goes into a capsule, in sparse areas less. This adaptive density does not overload weaker areas.

Step 3. Accounting for hair growth direction
Hair grows in spirals, curves and angles that are unique to each zone of the head. Each capsule is placed exactly along the growth direction in that spot. Capsules placed against the growth create tension and shift within a few days.

Step 4. Capsule activation at a controlled temperature
Each Italian keratin capsule of 0.1 to 0.5 g is heated to exactly 200 °C on a temperature-calibrated tool. Below 180 °C the bond does not form; above 220 °C the hair structure suffers.

Step 5. Hand-shaping the flat capsule
After heating on the tool to the right temperature, each capsule is shaped and pressed by hand, with clean fingers, one by one. The stylist uses a special, refined technique to create that invisible flat capsule and the most natural transition between the client's own hair and the natural extension strands. Each bond is worked individually, so the transition is soft, even and invisible.

Step 6. Integrating baby hair around the perimeter
Ultra-fine baby hair is attached along the entire hairline, at the temples and the nape, creating a smooth transition and a soft edge. This detail is what separates a professional result from an amateur one.

Step 7. Final blending and cut
All the added hair is blended with your own through a careful cut, thinning and texturising. You leave with a finished style, not with untreated strands that need a separate trip to the hairdresser.
