In the studio, in person, it is £50, and that comes off the price of your set. It includes a five capsule test on your own hair, so the decision rests on what your hair does with a bond rather than on a photograph of somebody else's.

I can give you a range now, on WhatsApp, for free. What I cannot do honestly is give you one figure before I have seen how much hair you have and how much you are adding. Colour and density decide the strand count, and a photograph hides both. The exact figure is confirmed at the consultation, before you commit, and it arrives as a payment link with your amount already on it.

From about five centimetres of your own length. That is shorter than most salons will attempt, and it is the reason women growing out a short cut end up here. If your hair is shorter than that, say so and I will tell you how long to wait rather than take the booking.

Probably not, and this is most of my diary. The bond I use for fine hair weighs 0.2 g. The industry standard bond weighs about a gram. On fine or thinning hair that is not a specification detail, it is the whole question, because it decides whether a set grows out clean or takes your own length with it.

You get the time with the strand count at the consultation, because a partial set and a full head are not the same appointment. What I will promise is that it is one appointment rather than several, and that the room is yours for the whole of it.

That is what the five capsule test is for. Five bonds go into your own hair at the consultation, you see and touch them, and only then do we talk about a full set.

Normally, but with a shampoo free of sodium lauryl sulfate and its relatives, and with a comb made for bonded hair. Wash with your head upright rather than tipped forward, and dry the bonds rather than leaving them wet. You get the full routine in writing at the appointment.

Yes. Tie the hair up, rinse chlorinated or salt water out with fresh water afterwards, and dry it before bed. What ruins a set is leaving it wet and tangled, not the exercise.

Yes, with the hair dry and loosely plaited or tied. Sleeping on wet hair is what turns a good set into a matted one.

Yes, keeping the heat off the bonds themselves. Start a few centimetres below the root. The hair is real, so it behaves like real hair under heat, which also means it is worth using heat sparingly.

Colour is possible, but it is planned rather than improvised, and keratin straightening treatments are not done while a set is in. If you are planning a colour change, tell me at the consultation and we sequence it properly, because colour after the fitting cannot match what was matched before it.

Yes. A flat bond under a millimetre is what makes that possible, and it is one of the things worth checking with your own eyes at the five capsule test.

Yes, and you should. Added hair is not fed by your scalp, so it needs conditioning more than your own does. Keep oils off the bonds themselves.

Sixteen of them are reproduced in full on the certificates page, each naming the school that awarded it and the date it was signed. The 2020 course is independently accredited by The CPD Group under activity number 1008067, which anyone can check with the accreditor rather than taking my word for it.
